About Us
From Sydney to Zambia: a bridge built on love

The Founder's Story
Tokidz Cares was founded by Lusubilo Silweya, a Zambian-Australian creative, model, and youth advocate passionate about breaking barriers to education for children in Zambia. Inspired by her connection to both Australia and Zambia, Lusubilo created Tokidz Cares to support children beyond the classroom through education resources, wellbeing initiatives, and community-driven care programs. After volunteering in Zambia and witnessing the everyday challenges many students face accessing basic school and hygiene essentials, she recognised the need for sustainable, dignity-focused support that empowers children to learn, grow, and thrive. Through Tokidz Cares, she hopes to build a holistic education ecosystem that creates long-term impact for communities across Zambia.
Tokidz Cares was born from two months of listening, not from a boardroom or a brief. What began as a volunteer placement at Open Garden Community School in Lusaka became the foundation of a model built on one principle: communities closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions.
Our Mission
What we stand for
Tokidz Cares supports underprivileged children in Zambia by providing educational and care resources that remove everyday barriers to learning and help children thrive in school and life.
"We're not giving them a voice. They already have one. We're just giving them a mic."
Lusubilo Silweya, Founder
Our Vision
The future we're building
A future where every child in Zambia grows up with access to quality education and the resources to participate fully in school.
We are not just building a charity. We are building toward a future where communities in Zambia no longer need Tokidz Cares because the systems and culture of learning we help put in place have become self-sustaining. That means choosing innovation over convention, providing resources that reduce long-term dependency, and working with communities, not for them. Every program we run asks one question: does this create lasting change, or does it just feel good? We hold ourselves to the first standard. Always.
